ReCover CA Homebuyer Assistance Program (DR-HBA)

DR-HBA provides forgivable loans to low- and moderate-income borrowers impacted by 2018 and 2020 disasters to assist with the purchase price of a home.

Overview

Homebuyer Assistance Program funds help disaster impacted low to moderate income homeowners and renters to relocate out of high or very high fire hazard areas.

Through the assistance of a subrecipient, Golden State Finance Authority, the Program provides forgivable loans to eligible low- and moderate-income homeowners and renters impacted by 2018 and 2020 disasters. The program will provide funds to assist with the gap between the amount of the first mortgage that the applicant can afford through an approved lender and the purchase price of a home. The award cap is $350,000 which can also include reasonable and customary closing cost and downpayment.
